Jo Clarke's basketry weaving work involves using traditional basketry techniques such as twining, binding, coiling and weaving to create structures that evolve slowly as the work progresses. She uses plant based sustainable natural fibre ropes and twines of abaca, sisal, jute, flax and cotton as well as cotton and cane.
Jo works from her studio in Norfolk where she designs and creates unique handmade one-off pieces.
Jo started in graphic design, followed by an MA in Textile Design at Norwich University of the Arts. She is a member of the Norfolk Contemporary Craft Society and her basketry work also features in the Craft Council Directory.
