Collection: Karen Bek

Karen Bek weaves contemporary willow baskets by adapting traditional techniques and incorporating other foraged, found and coppiced materials. Karen's work is influenced by the Norfolk countryside; weaving colours and textures that blend together to showcase natural materials and demonstrate their usefulness beyond their living state in the outdoors.

Karen grows some of her own materials and is  keen to show how craft work can contribute to a more sustainable and environmentally protective future.  Basketry has a long history as a therapeutic craft, being one of the earliest forms of occupational therapy and her workshops and teaching promote wellbeing and therapeutic practices.
