Ruth Howes

Ruth is an artist maker, predominantly working as a paper cutter and a sculptor. 

Working with an absolute economy of materials (paper and blade), Ruth designs and cuts by hand, producing intricate and delightful paper cut art works. Many reimagined into prints and decorative hanging works. 

Her work finely balances ‘technical’ and ‘invention’; acute and whimsical in one.

Ruth’s two dimensional paper cut works are evolving into a new seam of three dimensional works; paper made sculpture and multilayered framed pieces.
