Spalted Beech Hurricane Lamp by Glowood. Hand turned wooden base with a recess to fit a standard size tea light with glass lantern made by Glowood. 

Spalting is one of nature's gifts that occurs primarily in fallen trees. Fungi colonises the timber by travelling through the wood cells leaving incredible patterns. By the time Matt works the wood the spores are completely inactive.
