Textile designer Fran Squires is passionate about colour and pattern. Her work is strongly influenced by her environment - both domestic and natural. Her new work is strongly influenced by her travels around Portugal in recent years.

Working from her studio in Norfolk, she uses traditional screenprinting methods, working slowly to build up her unique designs over weeks. Fran uses both pigment Procion and natural dyes in processes ranging from screen printing, hand painting and sketches to collage using a collection of vintage linen and cotton embroidered fabrics.

Fran uses found fabrics to create limited edition designs that blend with the history of the cloth to create pieces that combine modern and traditional styles and processes.
