Hand crafted by Jaco Beukes.

Only ten of these end tables were handcrafted from the slipway beam of the Old Lifeboat Station at Wells-next-the-sea on the Norfolk Coast, and dates back to 1869. Each end table is unique and not only displays the wear-and-tear of 150 years of active duty, but also the unique colour and qualities of the Ekki wood, also known as Red Ironwood. This wood is extremely heavy and has the interesting characteristic that it sinks in water, making it ideal for maritime construction. Two of the tables still have the original steel pegs in, while three others have holes where these pegs were removed when the lifeboat station was dismantled. Therefore, if you are looking for a truly authentic piece of history, this reclaimed and repurposed end table is the perfect find.
