Collection: Danielle East

Danielle works with, and is inspired by, the photographic process; experimenting and using the qualities of different methods to create an image. The landscape, culture, skies and nature of Norfolk, Danielle’s home, are primarily the influence and subject of her work; allowing her to experiment with Multiple Exposure, Photograms, Pinhole photography and more recently, Cyanotypes.

Cyanotypes are something Danielle started working with during Lockdown in 2020. A simple Photographic process where light sensitive chemicals are applied to paper to create an image when exposed in the sun. Dried or fresh plants and flowers, collected from her garden and placed directly on top the treated paper have become the main subject, whilst allowing her to experiment with different compositions, such as layering the plants or playing with how the chemicals themselves are painted onto the paper
